At COTS Youth we aim to be real in our faith, have fun, & meet each person where they are.
Every youth can belong.

Hide & Seek!

Who:    You and friends in grades 6-8.

   When:  TODAY! Friday, Jan 17, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

What:   We've got the place all to ourselves!  After we explore how each person on the planet (which includes us!) is gifted for a purpose, we'll shut all the lights off in this Big, French Gothic, sometimes-a-little-spooky church.  And then it's Hide & Seek time. Bring friends!

Where:  Meet and pick up in the Jr Youth Room 097 of the church (down the stairs inside the carport entrance).

Why:    Every time we gather together, the group gets a little closer, whether you're a first-timer or an old-timer.  And really, Church of the Saviour is just about the best hide and seek venue around.  That's fun!

Souper Bowl of Caring

On Feb 2, youth all across the country are standing up to fight hunger in their own communities.  Over the last 11 years the COTS Youth & Softball Teams have collected over 1.75 tons of food and over $7000 supporting the Heights Emergency Food Center (Clev Hts) and the Cory Hunger Center (Glenville neighborhood).  This is something WE can do to help our NEIGHBORS in need right NOW.

What to Wear:   Any COTS Youth shirt you may have.  I've got a few extra if you don't have one yet.

Who:   COTS Youth and the COTS Softball Teams

Something to Think About...

Do you know how to knit?  Have you seen someone doing it?  Have you ever looked closely at a knit cap or blanket or scarf?  It's like a combination of great attention to detail and magic. Everything about it is intentional (when it goes right).

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
---Micah 6:8 (NIV)

If God is calling us to a life where we act justly and love mercy and walk humbly with God, how can we do that if we're nothing special - if we're pretty much like everyone else?  But what if that's not the case?  What if we ARE special - born with gifts, interests, and growing in experience?

You are the one who created my innermost parts;
you knit me together while I was still in my mother’s womb.
I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart.
Your works are wonderful—I know that very well.
---Psalm 139:13-14 (CEB)

Take a minute to talk with God about you.  Imagine God "knitting" you together.  As Larry the Cucumber says, "God made you special, and he loves you very much."  NAME what makes you special.  You were made on purpose for a purpose.
