It's happening! Please join us on August 2nd at 6 p.m. for the Ribbon Cutting and official Opening of the Horner Park Dog Park. Celebrate alongside Alderman Deb Mell and Alderman Ameya Pawar who generously funded this Phase I fencing. The concept plan for Phase II, designed by Christy Webber Landscapes, which includes a small dog area, water area, turf play field, benches, water fountains and more will be available for viewing onsite if you haven't seen it already. These extra features cost extra money. With your help we hope to raise the remainder of needed funds, approximately $100,000 by this time next year. A big thanks to everyone for all of their support in making this happen. In other exciting news, they have also started the resurfacing of Horner's tennis courts along Montrose. Please respect the new surfacing and remember that dogs are not allowed on the tennis courts. The courts along California will soon be turned into a Mini Soccer Pitch, and no dogs will be allowed on the pitch either. But never fear, the DFA is here. And your dogs will love to play there!
Feel free to tag yourself and share in any way you please. Each "like" counts as a vote, and voting lasts until July 28. The 12 dogs with the most likes will be featured as the full page image for a month. But we try to get all participants in the calendar somewhere, so even if you don't win a month your pup will likely have at least a thumbprint spot. The dog with the most votes will be on the cover, too. Calendars will go on sale in the fall. Let the voting begin!
