A talk by Dr Hurley animated with readings by actors
7pm, Thursday 2nd March - at the library
We're delighted to announce that actors from the Monaco-Ireland Arts Society will animate the event by reading some of the letters written by Mary Lavin during the talk by Dr Gráinne Hurley.
Gráinne will give a talk about celebrated Irish writer Mary Lavin and The New Yorker, exploring Lavin’s relationship with the iconic magazine, drawing on her extensive correspondence with the editor.
Mary Lavin was born in Massachusetts on 10th June 1912 to Irish parents, which ties in with the library's theme this year 'Irish-American influence on literature, music and culture.'
