What does RED, white, and Rescued stand for?
Freedom means many things to many people. For REDCOLLAR RESCUE, freedom means rescuing as many homeless animals as possible from the stressful environment of area shelters before their time is up. The rescued animals never disappoint - they know when their Independence Day has arrived, and that Freedom Ride from the shelter is always filled with smiles from pets and humans alike! Our supporters and adopters often ask us - just what is the true cost of rescue?
For each homeless pet, we incur expenses far beyond the adoption donation for a pet. For example, our expenses include $150 for a vet check up and vaccines; $250 for spay/neuter; $75 for microchip, leash, collar, and tags; $350/month in boarding fees; $20/month for flea and heartworm preventative. Heartworm positive dogs may undergo a $500+ course of treatment while physically injured dogs may have $1000s of dollars worth of surgery and rehabilitation.
Once we have committed to a pet, we never turn away, no matter the cost. And each time you support REDCOLLAR RESCUE, you too help create that special moment of Freedom for homeless pets. As Gandhi once said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Help us show that America is Great - support Red, White, and Rescued by sporting our red, white, and blue gear.
