The project PEACE_Alps has gained momentum; partners have organized start-up meetings, talked with municipal representatives and stakeholders and, as a result, the first implementation measures for energy actions are in the pipeline.

PEACE_Alps Market Stand and Session on AlpWeek 2016 - Bundling efforts in Grassau
“Alps and People” – was the slogan of this year’s AlpWeek, which took place in Grassau, Germany form 11.- 15. October. The PEACE_Alps project was presented by a stand on the market place and a session on adaptation to climate change.

As foreseen by the PEACE_Alps project, during the month of November, Ökoinstitut Südtirol / Alto Adige carried out the second research phase which aims at defining the requirements and necessities of municipalities in the application of measures which would help them reach their minimal goal of CO2 emissions reduction within 2020.

The 2020Together project - An experience that can be replicated
The 2020TOGETHER project, activated thanks to European funding, amounting about  490.000 euro, under the Programme CIP-IEE Intelligent Energy for Europe / Mobilizing Local Energy Investments - MLEI, is finalized to launch energy efficiency investments in public buildings and lighting of some municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Turin area.

Refurbishment of public buildings within the Alpine Space: experiences made in rural areas
One of the areas covered by this project concerns the refurbishment of public buildings and public lighting. Project Partner RhôneAlpÉnergie Environnement, RAEE started working on this topic with the natural parks of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in order to help them to structure themselves and share small refurbishment projects, scattered, to multiply them and find enough substantial and suitably sized financial packages.

News from the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy
Covenant of Mayors signatories commit to carrying out local actions to mitigate climate change, adapt to its unavoidable impacts, and facilitate access to secure, sustainable and affordable energy. To support new signatories in their energy and climate planning and to help them track progress on the implementation of their commitments, the Covenant of Mayors reporting framework has been revamped.

New regulations for public buildings on energy management in Slovenia
In Slovenia, new regulations on energy management in public buildings have entered into force on 13. August 2016. The regulation provides for the obligation to establish a system of energy management in buildings of the public sector, with the aim of increasing energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources.

National networking day on climate adaptation in Austria
„Climate Adaptation“ was the Headline for the national meeting, where „Energy or Climate“ regions were invited, this event took place from the 19th to t he 20th of October. The PEACE_Alps project was presented by a stand on the market place and a workshop on the 19th of October, on which we discussed about major adaptation topics.

Municipalities of Swiss regional parks Doubs and Chasseral gathered for PEACE_Alps workshop
37 municipalites of the regional parks of the Doubs and Chasseral were invited by PEACE_Alps partner Planair to exchange around the theme of energy at a workshop on September 22nd. Main objective: to offer support to local authorities for the implementation of concrete and sustainable actions for the benefit of the population and the region as a whole.
