Bare Bakery, a venture started by Kelly Cornelison, began at Imperial Farmers Market in August of 2015. Specializing in desserts “bare” of gluten, grains, and refined sugar, Bare Bakery is filling the void for these elevated desserts in Sugar Land and beyond. Every week you can find new things on the menu, from cookies to mini cakes to brownies to macaroons. And don’t forget seasonal muffins that go great with your Saturday morning coffee.

Kelly started her gluten-free journey back in 2013 after learning about the Paleo diet. But in a world of trendy gluten-free labels, she was unable to find desserts that fit her strict standards. Gluten-free products have certainly seen a steady rise in demand over recent years, so it’s not hard to find gluten-free versions of mostly everything on the grocery store shelves. Bare Bakery’s products go steps further by never using gluten, grains, refined sugar, or anything artificial. By removing these ingredients and replacing them with protein-rich almond flour, fiber-rich coconut flour, raw honey, or the highest quality maple syrup, a superior product is achieved that stands out from other dietary-restrictive brands. Ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible (honey, eggs, season fruits, etc.) and Bare Bakery hopes to soon be in local stores near you.

Did You Know?

Scientists at Cornell University have identified two cancer-fighting substances in the tomato: P-courmaric and chlorogenic acids.
