Art of Imagination Newsletter

Dear Members,

Thank you for being part of Art Of Imagination!

This newsletter is all about what our community is doing worldwide.
In this newsletter you will find:

  • News from the Society for Art of Imagination
  • News from Dreams and Divinities
  • News from the International Surrealism Now Exhibition

We are living during an unprecedented time in history and a lot of artists are struggling right now.  I hope you are all able to stay safe, healthy, and creative. We need to make art during this time so we have a record of this period in history through the eyes of its artists, so please keep creating and sharing your gifts with the world.

Representational Fantastic
The Society for Art of Imagination exhibition at Kirkland Arts Center, in Kirkland, USA, March 16 - May 1, 2021

By the time the Covid 19 pandemic began to unfold, planning for this exhibition was already well under way.  With a lot of uncertainty swirling around us, we cautiously moved forward.  And, fortunately, by the time the exhibition began, the situation was beginning to ease, and so we were able to have a physical exhibition, open to the (masked-up) public.  Though we were unable to have an opening reception (large gatherings were still restricted), we still were able to assemble an excellent show, which was attended by many people over its six week span.  The public response was very positive, and several artists sold their work.  In addition, the Kirkland Arts Center was a wonderful collaborator - a non-profit art school and gallery in a lovely historically significant building, whose staff were very helpful, and excited about our exhibition.  They have already expressed enthusiasm about another collaboration, in the not-too-distant future, hopefully after Covid 19 is truly vanquished, so we can all meet in person again for the opening reception.

VISION TRAIN
Presentations on the Sacred Feminine and the Sefer Yetzirah

For the Vision Train the online 24-7 artist community, we did a series of visual presentations on the Triple Goddess and the Sefer Yetzirah.

The Sefer Yetzirah is the oldest esoteric Hebrew text and is attributed to Abraham. However, unlike the Abrahamic religions, this text speaks of the Genesis of Life coming through a Triple Goddess and the Fathers they birth.

The idea of three igniting the Genesis of life is found in many of the bronze and iron age fertile crescent cultures, such as those from Egypt, Canaan, Arabia, Mesopotamia, and Elam.

The Sefer Yetzirah and the Fertile crescent also have a second model of the triple Goddess which represent: the Virgin Mother, the Fertile Mother, and the Grand Mother. This type of triple Goddess is more widespread and can be seen throughout Europe and India as well.

If you would like a peek at the first presentation, then come join me for an exploration into our most ancient mythology. Wherein the divine feminine was in balance with the divine masculine. In this next presentation, we will explore the Virgin Mother as seen as the Mother Aleph, Namma, Antu, Arinnitti, Tiamat, Kiririsha, Athirat (Asherah), Neith, Qadesh, El-Lat.

Stay happy and healthy!
