Have you ever had the luck to observe marine animals in their natural habitat? The moment, when whales or dolphins emerge from the depths of the ocean, is simply unforgettable.
In cooperation with local partners, OceanCare has been studying whales and dolphins for 20 years. Thanks to this work, we know how the different populations are developing and what dangers they face. And it gives us the possibility to take protective measures in time.
Would you like to take part in one of our research expeditions in the Mediterranean? During the summer months, the following partner organisations offer this possibility:
Save The Med, Balearic Islands: On board of a magnificent sailing ship, you will search the sea for turtles, dolphins, whales, rays and sharks. And with the guidance of experts on board, you help to identify the marine animals and to record the sightings.
Tethys, Greece: On daily trips in the Gulf of Amvrakikos, Western Greece, you will support the research team in protecting an endangered population of bottlenose dolphins, by identifying the animals by photos. Further information Booking
As places are limited, we recommend you register as soon as possible. And now I wish all participants lots of fun and an unforgettable insight into the fascinating life on and under water.
