Dr. Acula to Room 1007: The monsters have checked in
On the 7th of October, we released our first game. Monsters and Medicine on the Humble store. When we started the project back in March we knew that whatever else, we wanted to put Monsters and Medicine out as a full game. It took us longer than we planned, and we learned a heck of a lot along the way, but we’re glad to say we made it there. The game is out and it’s being played by real people out in the world that we don’t know personally. That in itself is a really weird and awesome feeling. We want to thank all of you who helped us out along the way! Your support, advice and friendship made all the difference.
If you haven’t bought it yet yourself, there’s no time like the present...
The really Awesome gaming event
Early in October, some members of our team headed off all the way to distant Johannesburg in order to attend this years rAge. We were showing a game as part of the home_coded display along with a bunch of other talented local developers from MakeGamesSA. As a couple of Cape Town locals it was really cool to meet and hang out with the local developers we don’t usually get to see in Cape Town.
We managed to show off Agent Unseen to a bunch of people, get their feedback and incorporate that into our thinking on the project. We also got to meet and chat to members of the local press scene, which was a lot of fun. If you want to read more about our time in Johannesburg, go check out this blog post.
Agent Unseen: Sneak your way to victory
Throughout the last two months we’ve also put out a few new builds for Agent Unseen. The current version of the game, which you can find here, is quite close to what we were showing off at rAge. We feel like we are quite close to getting the moment-to-moment feel of the game down, after which we’ll start looking at making each individual level, and each individual run, more distinct and interesting. We really feel like the game is getting along quite nicely and would love for you to check it out if you haven’t had the chance.
