Energy Metals and Power Storage
The RDA Wheatbelt Chair Mr Terry Waldron recently attended the launch of the ‘Establishing the Case for Energy Metals and Battery Manufacturing in Western Australia’ hosted by the US Counsel General and Tesla. This important issue has gained much media attention recently and the Wheatbelt is keen to maintain the impetus for this project.

This study has been led by RDA Perth in partnership with Curtin University and selected industry stakeholders and with the support of RDAs across WA.

The Study was released on the 13th July at the Celebrating Energy Metals event. The Study is available electronically on the RDA Perth website or a hardcopy can be picked up from the RDA Perth office Contact Thea Verrall or contact admin@rdawheatbelt.com.au.

Regional Early Education and Development Inc.
RDA Wheatbelt congratulates Regional Early Education and Development Inc. (REED) which is leading the innovative regional governance model project and developing leadership capability building in the Wheatbelt’s child care sector.

Many people are aware of the huge commitment to get any project developed but with this project the people on the ground are truly remarkable for committing hundreds of hours liaising, planning, winning hearts and minds to get this commitment to a new way of working and ensuring sustainability of this important service.

This project is an exemplar of work at a cross community, local, regional, state and federal level to support this initiative. RDA Wheatbelt support has been through the Regional Children’s Services Plan, assistance with the BBRF application and awarding a five month Build Your Business scholarship to the General Manager Kylie Helgesen. The Wheatbelt Development Commission has been involved in this project with a position on the State regional child care committee, Royalties for Regions investment and funding support for the feasibility/business plan, ensuring this project became a pilot for new governance structures.

For more information please contact Kylie Helgesen (General Manager).
