Two Kingdoms
Every Christian is a member of two kingdoms.  Primarily, they belong to God's kingdom through faith in Jesus.  Jesus constantly emphasized the truth that believers grow in their citizenship and exercise the freedom of God's kingdom as a matter of first priority.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33).
Elsewhere, God emphasizes the blessings of belonging to his "other" kingdom, our earthy kingdom.  For most of us that means the USA.  This Friday we celebrate our country's birthday.  The many privileges and freedoms citizenship in our country affords us are worth celebrating!  And, they are worth saying a prayer of thanks to God who gave them to us.

Altar Flower Calendar for 2014 is located in the Ministry Center. The price for altar flowers remains the same as last year at $20.00 per Sunday. There is room for two families to donate per Sunday. If two families donate on the same Sunday, the cost would be $10.00 each. Those who wish to donate flowers are asked to sign up on the Sunday that you want your flowers on the altar. Please put payment for flowers in box located below the flower chart sometime before your flowers are on the altar. You are welcome to take your flowers home after second service. We appreciate your willingness to donate flowers to help beautify our worship services. If you have questions or would like to help with altar flowers, please contact Linda Kirkpatrick or Bill Weinstein.

Additional Volunteers Needed  to help with cleaning our church and offices. If you can spare an hour or so once a month in helping to keep our church clean, please contact me. Thank you. Bill Weinstein, Sanctuary Care Coordinator (888-2639)

Gift Card Donations  In these uncertain times there are many of our brothers and sisters in the faith who are struggling financially. One way that we can help is by giving them gift cards from Safeway, Fry's, Wal-Mart or Circle K (for gas). If you are in a position to do so and are willing, please consider purchasing these gift cards (Scrip) from Juanita Lange and bring them to the church office. Thank you for your Christian love and concern.

Church Cleaning  Over the summer months we typically lose some of our cleaners; therefore, if you would like to help out during June, July or August, please contact Bill Weinstein (888-2639). We can always use some help beautifying our church.

Vacation or Travel Plans?  When you make your travel and vacation plans, check with the church office for assistance in locating one of our WELS or ELS churches throughout the United States.  Our Synod Yearbook contains information on worship times, addresses, etc. When you visit other churches on your travels, please let us know by bringing the bulletin to the church office.  Our pastor enjoys seeing what is going on in other churches throughout Arizona and the United States.
