We reached the target!

This weekend was amazing. As I was preparing dinner on Saturday, friends and family were texting me how rapidly the amount on the crowdfunding page was going up. Wow, this certainly was reason for celebration! In the morning a newsletter of Politicos’ ‘EU Confidential’ Podcast had gone out, with an article on their podcast-interview with me. Read the article here or tune in to the podcast (from minute 20 onwards). This coverage was the boost the campaign needed and I am so touched by the warm comments it triggered and how the documentary ‘in the making’ resonates.  On Sunday 17pm we reached our target of € 16.000. At the moment of writing we are at 111%! And this is thanks to 254 supporters and all the individuals, media and organizations (WIIS Brussels, the Brussels Binder, Holland House, Het Els Borst Netwerk, de Nederlandse Vrouwen Raad, de VVAO, Stem op een Vrouw) that helped spread the campaign . This means we now have the funds to finance the editor and post-production house and complete the film! It is a dream coming true. And now…... lot’s of work ahead ;-)

3 days left to raise funds for the films’ marketing and distribution through the Cinecrowd campaign-page!

Of course we want as many people as possible to be able to see the film; to show an audience the human-face behind ‘Brussels’ and to trigger reflections on the film's themes. To achieve this we are also raising funds for the film’s marketing and distribution. These funds will allow us to send the film into various film festivals, work with a sales-agent to further distribute the film and develop an impact program with screenings and Q&A’s. Want to help cover a part of these costs?  Spread the word that individuals can still donate to my crowdfunding campaign and hence our marketing and distribution budget until this Friday the 5th of February 12 am! Private screening with Q&A at your organization

Is your organisation interested in organizing a private screening of the film after its release? Let this film be a starting point for a discussion about the future of work, life choices in competitive work settings, women empowerment, leadership and how to best steer Europe's future. Interested; then please contact me at to discuss the possibilities for a customized program and contribute in this way to the film’s marketing and distribution budget.

What else needs to be done?

Next week I’ll start working with editor Merel Notten. We will have to mould 100 hours of footage into a compelling documentary and, if needed, will shoot some closure images in the EU bubble. When the edit is done, a post-production house will work on the sound design and colouring and special music will be composed to complete the film, which we hope to release at the end of April 2021.

Media coverage Notes from Brussels

Other media also paid attention to the documentary-project. The Dutch platform CineSud interviewed me and the Belgian platform The Bulletin en Bruzz also wrote articles about the documentary-project. It was also taken on board in (Dutch news broadcaster’s) NOS Brussels Inside newsletter. Curious about the interviews and articles? Click on the links, also here below!
