Fellow Members:

I would like to share a few thoughts with all of you. First, I feel very proud of our membership and I know all of you share my enthusiasm for the terrific staff we have put together. It’s the best we have ever had at Rock Creek Cattle Company and we also just completed the most successful Wrangler since the inception of the club.

We have a number of projects underway. They include a new laundry facility which we hope to commence shortly, taking pressure off Cattleman’s Club. We are also constructing a new exercise facility at the east end of the pool, which will necessitate relocating parts of our fence which borders the pool. The current exercise facility will be converted into a yoga and Pilates studio. The facility should be open next season.

We are also commencing drawing plans for a new restaurant, bar, wine cellar and multiple patios at a clubhouse annex located off the connecting road through the Spotted Dog development. It will have expansive views and initially will only be open for drinks and dinner. The Spotted Dog Clubhouse will cater to adults with one patio outside the wine cellar being a cigar bar. We anticipate construction beginning in the spring.

We are also planning on opening Fish Camp on Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings for light dinner fare.

As part of the maturing of the club, we are formally creating a number of committees:
  1. A Governance committee comprised of Malcolm Holland, Hugh Harris, Mark Linehan and myself as Chairman.
  2. A Greens committee chaired by Malcolm;
  3. A Finance committee chaired by Mark Linehan;
  4. A Ranch and Grounds committee chaired by Hugh Harris;
  5. A formal Membership committee chaired by Doug Martinez, who will be joined by Michael Nevell and Gil Ernst. In addition to vetting new members by reviewing references, one or more committee members will conduct a Zoom interview prior to membership. This committee will also be responsible for handling straying behavior by members, their family, or guests.
As a final note, I always keep in mind that we are a family club. Occasionally members and/or guests may become boisterous at one of our facilities. Please recognize that we have children often present.

I would like to remind all members that the logo Lazy Bar S is trademarked and trade named. The logo on outwear is only to be worn by members and their immediate family members, not guests.

All of us recognize what a unique and special place Rock Creek Cattle Company has become. My job is to ensure that our ranch continues to be unique and so special.
Thank you for taking time to read this message.

Yours Truly,
Bill Foley
