San Gabriel Mountains National Monument

August Update

There has been much going on with the Community Collaborative and Monument Fund. Read on for the latest update.
As the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument Fund surpassed its $3 million goal, currently at $3.71 million, we are working with the forest service and partners to enhance and improve the recreational experience, restore acres of habitat, and replenish the watersheds throughout the San Gabriel Mountains. While this is a great start for the Monument the needs are great and more funding will be required to achieve the goals we all want to achieve.

We are excited to tell you about a fun blog contest we launched featuring the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. We will accept entries through Friday, October 16, more information can be found online. Please consider sharing with your networks via email, Facebook and twitter.

After meeting frequently throughout the summer months, the Community Collaborative took a break in September. Monthly meetings will resume in October. We’ll look forward to sending updates about the Collaborative’s progress and accomplishments next month.
