California Carbon Allowances (CCAs) traded in hefty numbers last week with large amount of activity falling on the V18s and the V19s. The total volume traded last week was 16,227,000 tons with the majority of traded on Wednesday and Thursday.
Delivery-wise, contracts on the Feb19 started trading on the InterContinental Exchange (ICE), with a total of 1.4 million tons traded for V18 and V19 vintages.
Entities were inclined to trade more of the V18 and the V19 front (Jan19 delivery) at a premium of 12 cents over the current auction floor price of USD 15.62.
