KIND Volunteer Update

First of all, I hope everyone is well and I want to thank you for the ways you have shared not only your time, but your heart.  It has made KIND significantly more special and personal for the kids. We have amazing volunteers.

General News
Currently, 30 kids are attending Monday-Thursday. This is the most students we've had on site since the "before times" (pre-pandemic), which is exciting and also brings more challenges of how to keep everyone properly distanced - so far we are figuring out how to make it work!

Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking for people to help in the following 3 ways:

1) Assist in the kindergarten - 2nd grade class. This group has the highest needs and widest range of abilities, so someone who can provide individual attention to the students needing help would make a big difference. The class is 4:45pm to 6:00pm. Tuesday is math, Wednesday is writing, and Thursday is reading. If you want to help on one of those days, let us know!

2) One-on-one tutoring. We have one 6th grade student in particular who is learning English and could really use some individual support. The class is also 4:45 to 6:00pm and the schedule is Monday writing, Tuesday reading, and Thursday math. If you are really patient and encouraging and would like to help her, let us know!

3) Vegetable and flower garden. Spring is here and we would like to get our garden going again! If you have a green thumb, a little free time on the weekends, and want to spearhead our gardening effort with the kids, let us know! We would set a time each week to bring a group of kids to KIND to work in the garden and have a great time together.
