Being in the Now

News

A heartfelt congratulations to all the new graduates from our Fall M4 Programs. We are always humbled by the courage, openness, and trust that unfolds in the courses. Thank you for your willingness to face your lives and cultivate a different way to meet it.

Continuing your practice - Alumni evenings are on the second (West End) and LAST (clinic) Monday of each month. Check the website calendar for details. Remember you can attend the all day sessions given at each semester too. Other ways to stay in touch are through our blog, Facebook, Twitter, Flipboard (great videos and news) & paper.li weekly. Don't forget our June retreat at Galilee; it's a chance to re-boot your practice by joining us on a weekend silent retreat lead by Frank & Lynette and OMC teachers.

Professional Training

We're thrilled to have Dr. Christopher Germer here in April 2014. He will be offering a weekend training program for health care professionals on Core Sklls of Mindful Self-Compassion. Register here.

Our M4 Teacher Training Program is full for 2014 and we are very excited about guiding this cohort of professionals in their desire to offer Mindfulness-Based Interventions to their clients.

A Poem

The Journey
by David Whyte

Above the mountains
the geese turn into
the light again

Painting their
black silhouettes
on an open sky.

Sometimes everything
has to be
inscribed across
the heavens

so you can find
the one line
already written
inside you.

Sometimes it takes
a great sky
to find that

first, bright
and indescribable
wedge of freedom
in your own heart.

Sometimes with
the bones of the black
sticks left when the fire
has gone out

someone has written
something new
in the ashes of your life.

You are not leaving.
Even as the light fades quickly now,
you are arriving.
