Mindfulness Starts Here: An 8-week guide to skillful living
by Lynette Monteiro & Frank Musten is now available at all bookstores and online booksellers. Offering the essence of the clinic's program through this book is exciting and we are filled with gratitude for all our participants and teachers who have contributed to making this happen. Mindfulness is a practice of relating to one another in a way that cultivates appreciation and support. At the OMC, we can truly say we have been blessed with enormous support and appreciate every moment of it.
We also want to be supportive of your practice. In September we will begin the first of our Alumni meetings on the last Monday of each month. If you have completed a course in mindfulness or are just curious about what this is all about, join us for meditation, a talk on secular mindfulness and Q&A . In October, we will offer a monthly session on the 3rd Monday of each month for those interested in a Buddhist-based practice. This is an urban extension of Sangha Arana
. No incense, maybe a candle, definitely focused on the roots of mindfulness practice, and some interesting talks by Lynette or Frank plus online video talks by some great Buddhist teachers.

From Go In and In - Poems from the heart of yoga
Let go of the ways you thought life would unfold, the holding of plans or dreams or expectations – Let it all go.
Save your strength to swim with the tide.
The choice to fight what is here before you now will only result in struggle, fear, and desperate attempts to flee from the very energy you long for.
Let go. Let it all go and flow with the grace that washes through your days whether you received it gently or with all your quills raised to defend against invaders.
Take this on faith; the mind may never find the explanations that it seeks, but you will move forward nonetheless.
Let go, and the wave’s crest will carry you to unknown shores, beyond your wildest dreams or destinations.
Let it all go and find the place of rest and peace, and certain transformation.
