We offer equipment rentals and sales encompassing most international brands and both electronic and mechanical repairs are done in house. TLS Productions, Inc. also provides theatrical draperies for rental and sale and can fabricate drapery to meet your specific needs. If it's lighting, rigging, staging, audio or video related, there are no limits to the products and services that we can provide.
Did you know that TLS Productions, Inc. is an Electronic Theater Controls Factory Authorized Service Center with ETC Factory Authorized Field Service Providers on staff? Our ETC Field Service Providers handle a variety of functions – advising contractors on proper methods for installing various products, providing phone tech support, providing onsite tech support when problems arise, updating operating software and doing new system commissioning along with owner training. And when needed, we can provide loaner equipment or acquire equipment direct from the factory, we can also facilitate factory repairs as needed. So, what have we been up to since August's newsletter? Our summer was a busy one, and the first few weeks of fall have been even busier! As always, we've been hard at work with local productions and installations here in Michigan, as well as various productions in Chicago. We've wrapped things up on one of our biggest productions of the year, which took place in Las Vegas several weeks ago, we're up and running at the Texas State Fair, we had a very successful Open House & New Product Showcase, and our involvement at this year's DLECTRICITY in Midtown Detroit was a HUGE success! And our busy fall season has only just begun!
On the topic of our Open House & New Product Showcase - thanks to all of you that attended, and special thanks to all those that participated in the two day event: ETC, Creative Stage Lighting, High End Systems, Altman Lighting, Clay Paky, MDG, Robert Juliat, American DJ, Global Truss, Elation, Robe, Apollo, A.C.T. Lighting, Chain Master, grandMA2, Stagemaker, LSC Lighting Systems, LynTec, Leprecon, AAdynTech, Martin / Harman, Total Structures, The Light Source, VMB, Hog4 and GLP! Our Open House & New Product Showcase was a great success, and we couldn't have done it without any of you that attended and participated! We're already looking forward to next year's Open House & New Product Showcase, which is sure to be bigger AND better!

DLECTRICITY 2014 – P.O.V. - A projection mapping, lighting & sound, art installation, took place at the front entrances of the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Public Library, on Friday & Saturday September 26th & 27th, 2014. Presented by DTE Energy and produced by MINDFIELD, with production, creative design services, and equipment provided by TLS Productions, Inc. & XL Video. Sponsorship was provided by TLS Productions, Inc., XL Video & Troy Design & Manufacturing Co. P.O.V. was but one installation of many that took place during DLECTRICITY 2014, a nighttime festival of art & light that featured over 35 world renowned and emerging artists whose cutting-edge works of art illuminated Midtown Detroit for two evenings.
TLS Productions, Inc.’s involvement with DLECTRICITY and the P.O.V. installation was to provide lighting and audio support to fully encompass the remaining sections of both buildings, thereby creating an immersive experience of sight and sound for attendees. Originally, the plan was to match lighting color palettes to video color schemes, but the decision was made to instead have various artists work and create their own concepts and subsequent art for each installation, thus leading to better end results with more creative depth.
Robert Glowacki, Lighting Designer & Production Manager for TLS Productions, Inc., stated, “The first concern was to make sure the lighting did not run away and become the star of the show; rather it was created and utilized to enhance the project. The second concern was - how do you use two of the most beautiful structures in Detroit, one of which [DIA] is days away from being stripped of its art and left for nothing, to your advantage? So right away my thoughts, being a Detroit native and resident, was to show people that there is beauty in Detroit, and that too often national media reports only on the bad news that exists in the city, not the good things - Detroit is a growing and thriving community, and a home for art and artists. That is what a lot of the P.O.V. content speaks to.”
