11th Anniversary of the Broadband CommissionThis Spring, we celebrate 11 years of the Broadband Commission. For over a decade, Commissioners representing the private sector, international organizations, government, civil society and academia have come together to discuss solutions to the challenges the world faces in implementing affordable, accessible and safe broadband. Through the thought leadership and outcomes of our various Working Groups, the Commission has published over 30 reports with policy recommendations for achieving the Commission’s Advocacy Targets and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. |

Broadband Connectivity, Transforming LivesThis Spring we promoted the Broadband Connectivity, Transforming Lives campaign’s new video, co-created with Broadband Commissioner Ms. Sun Yafang from Huawei, featuring LifeBank, a digital health service platform service based in Nigeria. The Broadband Transforming Lives Campaign illustrates the use of broadband in everyday life. Connectivity has become an essential component of modern living, acting as a tool for virtual education, healthcare, public services, social interaction, remote work and much, much more. These videos give a small glimpse into the lives of people around the world, and how they use broadband to stay connected for the greater good. Check out this, and the other videos on our website! |

Virtual & AI Driven Health and Care |
The Working Group on Virtual and AI Driven Health & Care will be chaired by Commissioners from the Novartis Foundation, the World Health Organization and Microsoft, and aims to offer a call to action to governments to enhance equal access to health and care, enabled by virtual and AI driven services. It will do a global scan on where regions and countries stand in the adoption of such services and it will showcase: Case studies of countries that were able to pivot as a result of the crisis and adopt virtual and AI driven services solutions for the long run. Successful theories of change (that enabled the change to happen) to inspire others on how to move forward and foster international collaboration. The business case for virtual and AI driven health services particularly in countries with low resources, to stimulate local providers to invest in sustainable virtual solutions in health. Cutting-edge technology and innovations that are emerging, as well as the platforms required to integrate these new solutions, that will help countries accelerate their digital transformation. An action-orientated road map of steps to be taken by countries to enhance health equity and population health, enabled by virtual and AI driven health services.
