Many lives are affected in the UK as a result of knife crime. When Birmingham four piece Łed By Łanterns found out about the 'Save A Life, Surrender Your Knife' campaign, they immediately knew they wanted to be involved.
The campaign aims to reduce the number of knives on the UK streets by providing anonymous knife amnesty boxes for people to surrender their blades anonymously, with no fear of repercussions. From these knives, sculptor Alfie Bradey has created the National Monument Against Violence and Aggression Knife Angel. The statue will be leaving the workshop to go on display early next year, and is sure to gain the nations attention.
The Łed By Łanterns single, titled 'Save A Life', will be available to purchase from all online retailers from the 21st of November, with profits going to the victims of knife crime and their families. The aim of the single, and accompanying video, is to raise awareness of knife crime amongst young people.
