Middlies 1/2 Aurora Australis Visit

               2016

              2017

Clay animals from around the world

What's happening in the Middlies 1/2 classroom.

The Middlies 1/2 have been learning about the major geographic divisions of our world. We are exploring the seven continents in a variety of ways and finding evidence of each continent in our own community.

We enjoyed a wonderful day at the Royal Botanical Gardens where we found, sketched and recorded plants from all over the world, including the very cold climate of Macquarie Island. We were very lucky to receive an invitation to tour the icebreaker Aurora Australis, where we learnt about the details of life and work in the Antarctic.

Back at school, the Middlies have each chosen a continent to research and find more about. Please come along to our room to see the clay models we have made of animals from all around the world.

Attention all gardeners of the floral, fruit, vegetable, herb, chook kind (or if you know any such people/are related to any such people/live near any such people etc.....).

For the Fair we are seeking donations of:

cut flowers

greenery for making up bunches of flowers

fruit

veggies

herbs

eggs etc.

If you are able to contribute anything it will be gratefully received during set up on Friday or first thing Saturday morning.

If you are planning to contribute something please let me know over the next week or two (catch me at school or email me at gbalon@tassie.net.au) & let me know the the type & quantity so I can get a sense of what is likely to come, thanks!

We sold kilos of lemons last year so if you know of sources of lemons they would be especially welcome!

Please label all buckets/baskets/containers etc that you bring your contributions in so that we can make sure they are returned to you.

With grateful thanks, Gabrielle

SAVE THE DATE! Friday 25th November
Family movie night to be held at school.
Watch this space for more information!
 Who gives a Crap!!!

Currently the school (and a few school families) order toilet paper from 'Who Gives a Crap'. The company donate 50% of their profits to help build toilets for those in need.

Hayley (Remi's mum) has been ordering for us
and they have given her the option of forming a co-op for bulk ordering. The deal is that if we can get at least 24 boxes in an order and create a co-op we will get the price of $36 per box (instead of $39) which is an amazing price with no shipping fee.

Hayley is keen to place an order next week. If you
would like to order a box (or 2) please let me or Hayley know ASAP!
