As we mentioned in our April Newsletter Yvonne has recently visited the wonderful US State of South Dakota. This area is great to combine with your holiday to Yellowstone National Park, visiting the true wild west.
My visit included many of the must see highlights of this area – the stunning Badlands National Park, a geological wonder featuring a maze of buttes, canyons, pinnacles, spires and gullies formed by millions of years of erosion. I explored Custer State Park, full of hiking trails, scenic byways and wildlife. I took an up close visit to Crazy Horse Memorial by helicopter, and also Mount Rushmore National Memorial to view the four presidents carved into the rock face. I also visited the fun wild west town of Deadwood, and for bikers and the town of Sturgis where thousands of people head every year for the famous motorcycle rally.
