Morning Sewing Class - 11:01 AM
Anastasia’s Sewing Classes are taught as open-studio. During your 6 weeks of classes you can come into the sewing studio and make your projects come to life. We have plenty of sewing machines for you to use (or you can bring your own!), along with embroidery machines and sergers and a huge cutting table— in short, everything you could need for your project. More

Dry Air Clay Class (Ages 7-10) - 4:00 PM
In this class, we will learn basic hand-building skills utilizing air-dry clay. We will learn both coil building and slab rolling to build dimensionally. Over the course of the several weeks we will discuss the methods of making with clay and work to create sculptures. On the first day we will sketch several creatures and in the following weeks, we will work to construct them in clay. Once they dry, the pieces will be painted and finalized. The course aims to reveal basic methods in clay and allow the students to use their imaginations to build their own fantastic creatures. Cost: $170 More

Chi Hack Night - 6:00 PM
The Chi Hack Night is a free, weekly event in Chicago to build, share and learn about civic tech and tools to create, support, or serve public good. Join us every Tuesday from 6-9:30pm on the 8th floor of the Merchandise Mart to hear from interesting speakers, learn from each other and work on civic projects. Non-techies are very welcome! RSVP is now required. Walk-ins will unfortunately not be allowed. More

Introduction to Spoon Carving (3 Week Series) - 6:30 PM
Ever been at a friends and ben struck with envy when they brought out the salad fork and spoon? Lose half your resentment. A well carved spoon is like food-friendly art. Join Rebuilding Exchange for a three part workshop with Chicago spoon carver, Niel Silins. Participants will learn safety, wood selecting, spoon design, and carving skills. All materials are provided so leave the park trees alone. Included in the materials is a sloyd knife and a hook knife, so you can take your new found talent into the future. Participants leave the workshop having completed at least one spoon. Please note this is a 3 week class. You must attend all classes to get the most out of the class. Check your calendars to be sure you don’t miss out. More

Drop-in Ceramics/ Wheel - 6:30 PM
Every Tuesday from 6:30-8pm you can join us to learn wheel throwing basics. Get centered with this meditative artform. Ages 16 and up. No sign up required. $35 per person can be paid onsite and includes instruction, 3 lbs of clay, glaze and firing. More

CHIPRC’s Zine Zine Club: Back to the Lab Edition, at Quimby’s! - 7:00 PM
In November, we’re putting zines that explore STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) under the microscope! This month at our book club-style event for people who read zines, we’ll be talking about our favorite titles that illuminate, debate, and celebrate the ways in which the world works. Zine newbies and longtime enthusiasts alike are welcome to join us for a fun discussion and snacks. More

PS1 Hackerspace Open House - 7:00 PM
Open to the public! Come see what Pumping Station One is all about. Bring your questions, enthusiasm, and curiosity. We give a tour of the space after the member meeting, stick arond for 300 Seconds of Fame, our open-mic night for presentations. More

Artmaking Studio Day Every Wednesday: Make & Meet at AnySquared - 3:00 PM
FREE Artmaking Session EVERY WEDNESDAY Drop in hours begin at 3pm until 10pm Supporting Artists for 7 years. Stop in. Make Art. Meet People. Brainstorm Projects. Plot Liberation. Be Social or Stay Focused. Supplies Available. We have plenty of basic supplies to share, but you are welcome to bring your own and make, share ideas, discuss possible collaborations. South Side Hackerspace: Chicago Weekly Meeting - 7:00 PM
Wednesday night meetings are an open house, a brief meeting about hackerspace business, and a general time to meet and chat with members and non-members who felt like dropping by. It's also a pretty good time for members to get certified on equipment. More

Mokena SpaceLab Public Hack Night - 7:00 PM
A night for the public to come in and work on projects, talk to members, and hang out. We may be working on our Maker Faire, or fixing a 3D printer, or souping up a racing car. Who knows! Come on out and meet us. No skills or prior knowledge required. More

Creating Kwanzaaness - 11:00 AM
Enjoy an afternoon of family crafts and activities, as we begin preparation for the Kwanzaa holiday celebration. There will be a short introduction of the History of Kwanzaa, its meaning, and creative ways you can celebrate with your family, friends and the community. More

Glassblowing for Adults - 1:00 PM
Participants will learn the intricate art of glass blowing during this 3 hour workshop. Our resident artist will guide you through the entire process of creating your own glass art piece. (Designs include double wall bowls, ornaments, & paperweights.) Supplies and equipment will be provided. Items made during workshop will be ready for pick up 72 hours after the event. More

Glassblowing Open House - 2:00 PM
From 2:00pm - 4:00pm, we'll have complimentary live Glassblowing Demonstrations, where guests can engage and interact with Ignite's artists. We look forward to seeing you there! More
