From the Chaplain's Desk:
This year, the 8th Grade religion class has tried something new. Instead of Br Todd leading Middle School chapels and delivering a sermon, our 8th Graders have each had an opportunity to deliver the sermon either on one of our core values of St. Andrew's or a bible passage. I have been absolutely delighted with the quality of the messages that have been delivered and want to thank parents and special friends as they have come to hear their student's "sermon". Please know that you are always welcome to our chapels and Eucharist (Kinderbears - 2nd Grade happens on Monday mornings from 9:30 - 9:55, 3rd and 4th Grade Chapel is on Monday from 10:00 - 10:30, and Middle School is on Monday following Morning Exercises from about 8:15 - 8:45). Our school Eucharist is on Wednesdays from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM. We would love to see you there to experience these vital moments in our community life.
I also have been so impressed with our 8th Grade class as each of them has written and presented their "Credo", which is their own statement of belief. Whether from a perspective of faith or no faith, they have spent a significant amount of time and energy into not only articulating what they believe, but why and being able to defend it. This is a key skill that they are learning and as always they are surpassing my expectations.
Faithfully,
Brother Todd
