Dear Students, Families, Colleagues and Friends
Welcome to today’s issue of the Head’s Weekly Newsletter.
Happy New Year to you all! May the year 2022 be healthy, happy, and full of optimism and hope, giving you joy and satisfaction in all that you do!
Such words of positivity don’t always come easy when we all continue to live our lives under the cloud of the global pandemic and the resulting restrictions.
As a school, Abbot’s Lea is no different in that we have started the year with some colleagues and students self-isolating due to Covid-19 and so, I want to send my best wishes to them all, whilst appreciating a huge amount of work that is going into keeping the school open and learning going during this turbulent time. We have been advised by the Local Authority to alert the families to the fact that, in the coming term, we may need to restrict some onsite operation, should the risk assessment dictate this, but, for now, we are fully open and do not intend to close any classes prematurely. Should a disruption occur, we will communicate it via Parentmail and our school’s website and Facebook and Twitter accounts, so please make sure your email is registered with Reception and that you keep an eye on messages coming in.
Term 3 is a relatively short one, with only six and a half weeks with the last day of term falling on 18 February 2022.
I wish every student a very successful period of learning in the coming days – you are all wonderful!
With best wishes for the weekend ahead,
Mrs A Hildrey
Headteacher
