Kathleen Kalogeras is an Ohio native who attended Baldwin Wallace College before moving to Boston to attend Boston University and New England Conservatory, working with such excellent violists as Marcia Ferrito, Steve Ansell, Michael Zaretsky and Walter Trampler.  For more than 30 years, she has been an active performer in the New England area, including playing principal violist for the past 10 years In the Brockton Symphony Orchestra.  She loves chamber music and spends her summers performing with various ensembles in the islands of Greece, based primarily on the historic island of Naxos.  There she helps run a summer camp for the children of the island, introducing them to classical music through group instrumental lessons and choral participation.  In the last several years, she has extended her solo and chamber music performances to the New England area.

A passionate teacher, Ms. Kalogeras has taught on many levels.  Her private students have played in Massachusetts District and All State Orchestras, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras and Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestras.  She has also taught preschool classes in music appreciation, performed in children’s concerts and taught at the collegiate and adult level.  Her primary goal is to give her students the technique to play music in any situation with confidence, fluidity and enjoyment.

Baksys is a frequent keyboardist with the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops Orchestras and has worked with other area ensembles such as the Concord Chamber Music Society, Boston Musica Viva, Boston Secession, and the Boston Symphony Chamber Players.
