Meet Your Philanthropy and Development Team!

We are pleased to introduce our Philanthropy Manager, Jennifer Sinclair (left) and our Community Engagement Coordinator, Lindsay McKillop (right) to Bethlehem Housing and Support Services. 

Jennifer is a lifelong learner and has 20 years of experience in the Non-Profit Sector. Jennifer holds a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Niagara College, a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Toronto, and a Certificate in Sustainable Community Development from Colorado State University. Jennifer is known throughout the Niagara Region as a compassionate community builder, creative facilitator and collaborator committed to working with others to find creative and sustainable solutions to our most pressing social & economic issues, including issues related to poverty and homelessness. In her free time she enjoys attending community events, spending quality time with family and friends, practicing yoga, and hiking Niagara’s trails.

Originally from Northern Ontario, Lindsay is a Cambrian College graduate with an Advanced Diploma in Public Relations and a Laurentian University graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies. After appreciating her passion for the event industry, she decided to further her education and attend Niagara College to receive a Graduate Certificate in Event Management. While in the Event Management program Lindsay joined Bethlehem Housing and Support Services for her internship and played an instrumental role in the success of our 2016 Empty Bowls event. In her free time she enjoys travelling to new places, exploring new foods, trying new workout routines, and relaxing with friends and family.

Jennifer and Lindsay are eager to build relationships and further engage our donors, supporters, partners and stakeholders in our growth and development plans. Please join us in welcoming them to Bethlehem Housing and Support Services.

Amazing Race Niagara Update
 
Over the past year we have made adjustments to our fund development team and have carefully examined our fundraising activities. Bethlehem Housing has decided to no longer hold the Amazing Race event. We would like to thank our dedicated volunteers, donors, sponsors and participants who have contributed to this event over the past six years. We greatly appreciate your commitment to Bethlehem Housing and Support Services. 
 
The 2016 Amazing Race Niagara will continue to take place on Sunday, August 28 and will support the important work of The Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara and The Niagara Chapter – Native Women Inc. As we journey forward to achieve greater community impact we will be shifting our fundraising efforts towards building the community’s engagement and investment in affordable housing solutions. Bethlehem Housing and Support Services plays an important role to help meet the housing need and support of at risk families through crisis. This is what we do best and we need to do more – but we can’t do it without you! 
 
This coming year we will be inviting you to engage in inspired action to work together with us on behalf of our clients and community to create and realize bold visions for the future. Stay tuned for more information on how you can be a Housing Hero in your community. 
Valerie's Story of Success 
Because of her struggles with addictions she had spoiled relationships with her friends and her family. Valerie felt alone and her life began to spiral out of control. By 2014 she was homeless and living on the streets of St. Catharines. During the cold winter months she decided she had enough and she looked to get help. Valerie stayed at the YWCA and during her stay they introduced her to Bethlehem Housing and Support Services, where her journey to recovery began. Read more... 
Volunteer’s Needed
Volunteers are needed for our Bingo nights held at Delta Bingo in St. Catharines, one Wednesday night per month from 7:30pm-9:30pm and one Saturday afternoon per month from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Bingo is an easy way to help us raise funds. If you are interested in helping out please contact Lindsay McKillop at 905-684-1660 ext. 4 or lmckillop@bethlehemhousing.ca.
