                E-Newsletter March 2016

We evaluate the impact of our work using a variety of methods. Here is a snapshot of some of the fun we had in January 2016:

Here is what our neighbours had to say about West End Family Night:
“Great way to connect with people over great food.”
“A lovely introduction to some locals, we have just arrived!”
“Hard to see people on a regular basis with busy schedules. Nice to know there is a monthly event to see everyone.”

The Young Ideas Initiative hosted 8 events and initiatives in January: Cooking With, Game On, 3 Yoga classes, 3 Get Smart Events: (Meditation, Financing, Coding). 100% of the folks that attended indicated that they met someone new at one of the events.
With the opening of Gordon Neighbourhood House's new Attic Thrift Store on Davie, our Attic stores were open for a total of 448 hours. In addition, our wonderful and dedicated volunteers donated a total of 917 hours of their time. You are the best, thank you!
We served 257 meals at our Community Lunch and over 97% of our guests indicated that they met someone new over lunch.
We welcomed 20 new regular volunteers in January.
The Clean Team, a partnership between Gordon Neighbourhood House and the West End Business Improvement Association spent 104 hours cleaning commercial streets in the West End and received 49 thank-you’s out in the community.
