E-newsletter April 2017

Gordon Neighbourhood House evaluates the impact of our work together using a variety of methods. Here is a snap shot of some of the fun we had in February 2017:

2 long-time Gordon Neighbourhood House Staffers attended Guacamole: an interactive theater experience where attendees learned how to make delicious guacamole, but also about the living and working conditions of temporary foreign farm workers in British Columbia. One of the GNH attendees has made guacamole at home 3 times since, every time sharing with someone the realities of temporary foreign farm workers in British Columbia.

West End Games Night Quote:

“I’m losing, but I’m having so much fun! I love what you guys do here…it’s great to be able to have fun and meet new people at the same time.”

Crafty Neighbours:

One of the Crafty Neighbours remarked that she ends up ripping out quite a bit of her knitting that she does during the program. This is because she does a lot of talking when they all get together to knit. She laughed this off, saying it was so much more important to her to come out and be with people, and that she made a point of coming so that she stayed connected to her knitting friends.
