GUEST SPEAKER

District Governor Nominee Dick Wilson visited the Rotary Club of Kent Town this week to talk about Australian Rotary Health, the largest national Australian Rotary community service program, which has allocated over $20 million to research, awareness and education.

The Program's current major focus is on mental health research by funding research project grants, PhD and Post Doctoral Scholarships, and Mental Health First Aid courses through local Rotary Clubs. Other projects include funding Scholarships for Indigenous Health, Medical and Nursing students.

Hat Day is another initiative of Australian Rotary Health held annually in October. Hat Day aims to destigmatise Mental Illness in Australia. By shining a light on mental health, Hat Day encourages people to no longer keep mental illness under their hats and to seek help by visiting their doctor.
