Asylum Speakers Awareness Program

Spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Kent Town, the Asylum Speakers Awareness Program (ASAP) aims to:

  • INFORM community members about the journey of asylum seekers and their living situation in Australia.
  • EMPOWER people to think critically about one of the most pressing social issues in Australia, by providing them with alternative sources of information.
  • ENGAGE community members in existing support networks that are improving the lives of people seeking asylum.
  • CONNECT community stakeholders with asylum seekers to foster positive, hope filled and compassionate environments where people are able to build meaningful relationships.

We begin our journey of understanding when we are willing to see the world through different eyes. Our trained Asylum Speakers are ready to take you on a journey, depicting the challenges and facts of people seeking asylum in Australia.

If you would like to host an Asylum Speaker, please contact us via email asap.rotary@gmail.com
