Asylum Speakers presentation tomorrow night!

Kent Town Asylum Speakers Melissa and Nelson will be presenting at the Adelaide City Rotaract Club tomorrow night.

The 'Asylum Speakers' is a new and exciting project, undertaken by our International Projects Committee, dedicated to informing other Rotarians and Rotaractors about the current situation of asylum seekers and refugees living in Adelaide and surrounding areas. Through a series of intensive educational training sessions, our 'Asylum Speakers' are fully equipped to present accurate and concise information so that we too can be equip with the facts about asylum seekers in Australia.

Special Presentation: Gemma Sisia, School of St Jude, Tanzania

For the first time in several years Gemma Sisia, Founder of the School of St Jude in Tanzania will visit Adelaide for one day only.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Mitcham, guests will hear about the school’s amazing triumphs over the past 12 years and gain insights into Gemma’s personal experiences.

TIA International Movie Night Fundraiser

The Adelaide City Rotaract Club are holding a movie night fundraiser towards TIA International Aid, a youth-led not-for-profit organisation. TIA aims to improve the futures of underprivileged and disadvantaged children and youth in Bolivia by creating new opportunities and assisting them to discover their potential.

Hyde Park's 31st Birthday Celebration

Celebrate the Rotary Club of Hyde Park's 31 Birthday by hearing from Author and journalist Nadine Williams about her best seling book "From France with Love". 
Nadine will speak about how a certain serendipity, fearlessness and a fascination with France created an eclectic life. She retired after a 20-year career as a journalist at The Advertiser where she focused on women’s issues, relationships and cultural issues. Her life after a retirement and partner’s death is also part of her inspiring presentation which will be interesting and relatable for women and men and friends alike and all that aspire to one day writing their own book or to hear how someone did.

The Monuments Men Foundations Movie Day

Based on a true story of the greatest treasure hunt in history. The Monuments Men (IMDbTrailer) 
focuses on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. The Monument Men, as they are called, found themselves in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1000 years of culture.

St Peters' 54th Annual Jumble Sale & Family Fair

On Saturday 1 March head down to the Rotary Shed, Linde Reserve, Stepney from 7:30AM until midday and grab a bargain at the Rotary Club of St Peters' 54th Annual Jumble Sale and Family Fair. Food stalls and rides for the kids. 

The jumble sale has been a local St Peters event for many years and is a significant fund raiser for the community programs of St Peters Rotary Club.
