ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

Mississauga Big Band Jazz Ensemble has been providing big band jazz music to the people of Mississauga for over 45 years. MBBJE is a dedicated group of musicians that celebrate all the great jazz styles, from classic standards to bebop and blues. They have performed at countless local community events and locations, including the Sunset Concert Series, the Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival, and Mississauga Celebration Square to name a few. Their ensemble also participates in fundraising events and monthly performances at the Port Credit Legion.

Mississauga Big Band Jazz Ensemble is hosting a Big Band Open Mic this Saturday, April 15, 7 PM at Cooksville United Church! Tickets are $20 for Adults or $10 for Seniors/Children.

But Ramadan is so much more than not eating and drinking. islamophobia.io presented by @studentasim is looking for memorable stories you might have of Ramadan to foster a greater understanding. islamophobia.io is a space that widens the narrative of Muslim communities through digital storytelling. They have 300 stories already submitted by the public in a collective pursuit to create better understanding, and counter Islamophobia. Big or small, share your story! Your stories will help decipher Ramadan and foster new understanding. You might even change the most famous question about it!
