It's getting closer and I'm sooo excited! You know …  the date when my book, SCATTERING ASHES, will be on bookstore shelves.

The official Pub Date is September 20th.  But I’m told preorders on Amazon will go out in early September and arrive in purchasers’ mailboxes well before the 20th

The final corrected version will be going to the press on July 12th!

My book launch will be on September 30th, at 5:30 PM at the New Dominion Bookshop, here in Charlottesville, on the Down Town Mall. If you are in the area please come and help me celebrate the results of five years of hard work.

I will be doing a second reading and book signing on October 21st, at the Winchester Book Gallery, from 6 to 8 pm. Winchester is located in the northern tip of Virginia about an hour and a half northwest of Washington, DC.

Plans are in the works for readings in other locations as well.

I will be posting a number of guest blogs over the next few months.
I will direct you to those as they are published.

Great reviews are beginning to come in on Goodreads from those who received Advanced Reader Copies. Reviews on Amazon won’t show up until the book is officially published.
Here are my latest reviews:

"...bravely honest....This is a moving narrative, and one that will ultimately serve a useful guide for families and their caretakers."--Publishers Weekly

“SCATTERING ASHES is a bleeding-edge memoir that takes a brave and liberating look at family dynamics; one that ultimately leads to love and forgiveness.” LAURIE BUCHANAN, PhD.

“A truly inspirational memoir with a universal message about the power of a mother’s love, the complexities of the mother–daughter relationship and the power of the human spirit to heal and move on from abuse.” KATHLEEN POOLER, author of Ever Faithful to His Lead: My Journey Away from Emotional Abuse.

“… a very powerful book and I highly recommend it. ”NetGalley reviewer, MARIEJKT

“I enjoyed this book and felt for the author and all she had endured. While reading I found myself wanting to tell the old woman off and to tell the author to remember who she is and what she has accomplished, not the words and actions of her parents. For me to have that reaction made this book worth the read.” NetGalley reviewer, KF

I hope your summer is feeling as wonderful as mine is.
I’ll be back on August 1st with more news and updates.
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Test Patterns: 6/20/02
I found this piece in an old journal. I wrote the following about it: "I have no idea what these things mean, but they stir something up within my soul and speak to me."

Scattering Ashes, A Memoir of Letting Go, is available for preorder on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
