Hello Friends!

On March 15 (the IDES OF MARCH), 44 BC, the historic Julius Caesar was attacked by a group of senators, including Brutus, who was Caesar's friend and protégé. Caesar initially resisted his attackers, but when he saw Brutus, he reportedly responded by saying, "Et tu, Brute?" (You too, Brutus?) Then he died. Just a short history lesson to say...we're already halfway through March! I trust you've had a good week!

Printed Music on your iPad
I haven't had any first-hand experience with this, but people ask me from time to time about putting printed music on their iPad. It's actually quite popular in commercial circles.  Musicians no longer need to use three-ring binders crammed full with music sheets. You can use your iPad and a great music reading app to store all of your favorite pieces and anything else you might be working on. No problems with page turns, music blowing off the stand, or poor lighting.

I found an excellent article online that gives some good information about this subject. It's called BEST MUSIC READING APPS FOR IPAD. It lists the four most popular programs for converting your PDF music to a format that the iPad can use. (By the way, I make no recommendation as to the best program, nor do I get any commissions for suggesting these sites.)

One of the programs lets you create set lists to play through, which is perfect for live performances. If you need to make notes as you're playing, you totally can, with drawing presets that you can create yourself. You can use this program's stamps or draw and import your own. You can then share everything via email, AirDrop, or Bluetooth, and the pages turn themselves! Prices range from free to $14.99. It's really quite reasonable if you're thinking of getting into this phase of music.

More "FREE STUFF!"for you!
This week I've added a book called Classical Guitar for Dummies to our FREE STUFF! The sections of this 362-page ebook include: Getting to Know the Classical Guitar, The Basics of Starting to Play, Improving Your Technique, Mastering Classical Guitar Repertoire, and an appendix called "Basic Guitar Care and Maintenance."

Have you been thinking about doing a YouTube video but don't know how to get started? This 10-page brochure called "YouTube for Musicians" may be the resource you need. This publication by CDBABY includes these subjects: Choose a Good Video Title, Upload a Custom Thumbnail, Insert YouTube Cards, List Relevant Tags, and a lot more practical stuff. This is a quick-read for those who want to jump into YouTube videos but don't know how.

"There Is Power in the Blood" is our free music for this week. It's the title song from our piano & organ duet book, POWER IN THE BLOOD.  Go to FREE STUFF! to get your copy. Next week we'll be sending you a new Easter piano solo as well as a children's Easter piano solo. With Easter still a month away, this should give plenty of time to practice for a special Easter number.

Time's gone! Thanks for keeping touch with us.

Blessings on you as you start a new week!
