SASW Awards Success!

The Scottish Association of Social Work Awards were a huge success for Circle, with two of our Family Support Workers winning awards! Pete Cloke was awarded Social Worker of the YearSylvia Sword was awarded Practice Teacher of the Year.  It was uplifting to hear so much positive feedback on how well our Circle staff have done from colleagues, academics and government. An absolutely fantastic achievement, we are all so proud of both Pete and Sylvia! They are pictured above with Aileen Campbell, Scottish Government Minister for Children and Young People.

Edinburgh & Lothian Health Foundation Funding Secured

Circle's West Lothian Project was successful in securing a year's funding from Edinburgh & Lothians Health Foundation for the development of our services supporting families to improve their mental health and emotional well-being. Scripture Union & Prison Fellowship Partnership Continues

Circle's exciting collaboration with Scripture Union and Prison Fellowship is now in its fifth year. 35 of Circle's staff visited Scripture Union at their Lendrick Muir site in March, strengthening our partnership and seeking to enhance the opportunities for the children, young people and families we support. Circle was delighted to attend the Year of the Dad conference in Edinburgh in February. Great conversations took place in celebrating and validating the important role of dads!

New Advisory Panel Members Appointed

A joint event between Circle and the Stirling Centre for Child Wellbeing & Protection. Presentation from Naomi Eisenstadt on how voluntary sector organisations and our statutory partners can work more effectively together to support and take forward the recommendations made in "Shifting the Curve".

Powerful feedback from Intersect - NHS Leadership Academy

Intersect brings health, social and public services together with local government and the third sector for the benefit of the people we help everyday. Intersect programme participants met with staff from Circle's East Lothian and Haven Projects. They also met with families supported by Circle's Haven Project. Thanks to NHS Leadership Academy for their extremely positive feedback. It was a pleasure to have you with us, we also found you inspiring! 'Becoming Dad' feature in PINS 

Circle's 'Becoming Dad' group is run in collaboration with PrePare & Stepping Stones. The fathers group recently featured in Pupil Inclusion Network Scotland's (PINS) launch of PINS: 10 things we do to make a difference. Circle Hosts Senior Policing Strategic Command Course

Circle’s FABI & Harbour Teams were delighted to facilitate shadowing visits for four candidates on this course in February. This is the most Senior Policing Course in the UK. Read more...
