The name of our organisation is Circle (not Circle Scotland) and by changing our website and email addresses to circle.scot, we've made our branding more consistent and recognisable.

Leah Benson shortlisted for Social Worker of the Year
Massive congratulations to Leah Benson who was shortlisted for this year’s SASW’s Social Worker of the Year!!
This was a wonderful achievement and reflection of the work that Leah does with her families. Gary Clapton for University of Edinburgh and Sheila Cooper, former Practice Learning and Development Manager at Circle were also shortlisted as finalists in other award categories. The awards evening took place on 17th March and we are very proud of their achievements.
Haven awarded £350 grant to develop its garden
Circle's Haven Project was successful in securing a £350 grant from Edinburgh & Lothian Greenspace Trust for the development of the garden space. Read more...
Welcome to Stepping Stones
Haven would like to offer a warm welcome to Stepping Stones who are using space at Circle's Haven Project every Monday and Wednesday for their Muirhouse group. Circle looks forward to continuing an already positive collaboration with Stepping Stones in North Edinburgh.
Farewell to our Kinship Care Project
This year has also been a busy and productive year for the Kinship Care Team. Unfortunately The City of Edinburgh Council decided to bring the funding to a close and the past three months have focussed on winding down the work with families and looking at alternative support for those who need it. Voluntary Health Scotland's 'Living in the Gap' Report
Circle's model of work has been featured in Voluntary Health Scotland’s new report. Circle presented at the launch event at the Scottish Parliament in March, and the work model was favourably received. Read the full report here
FABI success at two national conferences
The work of the Families Affected By Imprisonment (FABI) team was represented at two Holyrood Conferences earlier this year. Both conferences were attended by parents who spoke to a large group of attendees sharing their experiences and the positive impact Circle’s support has made to them and their families. Read more...

'Incredible Years' group gets off to an Incredible Start
Haven staff in partnership with a member of staff from Barnardo's started their first PoPP ‘Incredible Years’ group. Staff in East Lothian are also completing the training. Read more...
Parents Under Pressure Parenting Programme
Six staff have also now been trained in the Parent’s Under Pressure Parenting Programme. Although it is early days the initial impact has been encouraging with some families enjoying the structure of the work and responding well to the feedback that the programme encourages. Read more...
Justice Services and Health Fayre for Women's Day
Circle had a stall at this event held by North Lanarkshire Council, and provided information for women involved in the criminal justice services.
"Working with Fathers: Promoting the Positive Involvement of Fathers in Vulnerable Families"
The recently published report on our work with fathers was presented at an international conference run by the British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (BASPCAN). Findings were well received. Click here to download the report.
Kinship Choir are on TV
We're famous! Circle’s Kinship Choir was featured on The Fountainbridge Show on STV Edinburgh. We took this opportunity to talk to STV about the needs of kinship families and would like to say a huge well done and thank you to all the kinship carers who featured in the video. Circle's Easter Extravaganza
Circle hosted a huge variety of Easter activities for children and families across all of Circle's projects during the Easter holidays including trips to local attractions, family excursions, family holidays, and celebratory fun days. Read more...

Margaret Mitchell (MSP) visited the Lanarkshire base in February. This was a great opportunity for fathers to share their experiences of the support they receive from Circle.
Warm welcome to new students!
We would like to welcome our new students. We hope they will enjoy their time with us and embrace the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills through their interactions with both staff and service users.
