There are just two days left to apply to take part in Digital Lifeline, an emergency response project which aims to get devices, data and digital skills support to people with learning disabilities.

If you support people in England with learning disabilities - or work with a self-advocacy group or a community-based organisation that does so - and can begin delivery of the project straight away, you could be eligible to apply.

As well as the devices and data, delivery partners will get a grant of £100 for every person they support with their new device. The minimum grant is £1,000 for supporting 10 people.

The deadline for applications is this Friday, 19th February at 12pm.

Newly updated UK grants database

Last year we launched a UK grants database, hosted on our website, containing lots of funding opportunities from organisations across the UK. It covers a range of grants from COVID-19 relief opportunities and involvement in community programmes, to funding projects that support BAME community groups. We’ve recently updated our database with lots of new grants, so if you’re looking for your next opportunity take a look at the website.

If you’ve not used the database before, you can read the instructions here to learn how to navigate the page, use the tabs to search for specific opportunities in your country, or search for COVID-19 support for your organisation.

TAKE OUR NETWORK IMPACT SURVEY

We’re currently looking into how our community partners are supporting individuals to learn digital skills remotely. We would like to hear about your experiences so we can shape our thinking about the future direction of the programmes we deliver.

Your responses will also feed into a ‘Network Impact Report’, which we will share with our funding partners to demonstrate the impact the network is having on individuals, communities and society.

Please complete our survey by 1st March to help tell us how your organisation is supporting others at this time. The survey should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete and we will be donating a £1 to St Luke’s Hospice for every response we receive.

VOLUNTEERING WORKSHOPS - LEARN HOW YOU CAN RECRUIT, SUPPORT AND MANAGE VOLUNTEERS

We’re pleased to share that our first volunteering workshop was a great success, with over 80 attendees joining the session. Lots of our community partners shared their knowledge and experience of what it means to support volunteers remotely and how to keep volunteers engaged with your organisation. We’ve got three more workshops coming up, so if you’re interested in joining us, make sure you book your place soon!

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING FOR CHARITIES

MediaTrust is currently offering digital communication training for charities to help individuals upskills around areas such as marketing and communications to help charities get the most out of their presence online. To help charities engage and communicate online, they are running a Digital Comms Programme, supported by Google.org which includes training, mentoring and resources.

The programme includes:

- 6 webinars run in partnership with Google Digital Garage
- 7 online marketing strategy workshops
- Digital mentoring for 20 charities
- Online digital comms resources
