Hello <<First Name>>

As many of you read this, the Good Things Foundation team (me included), members of the Online Centres Network, and other partners from the public, private and voluntary sectors will be enjoying our annual Digital Evolution conference.

If you haven’t been able to join us this year, you might still have time to check out the latest by following the hashtag #DigiEvol19 on social media. And if you missed that, don’t worry, we’ll be releasing videos of highlights plus all the speeches next week. Stay tuned!

There will also be lots more opportunities to attend events that bring together members of the Online Centres Network in the New Year.

The first of these is our Share and Learn Network Event in London on Tuesday 28 January. The tickets for this one are only £10 and the event will give you the chance to chat with fellow Online Centres about each other’s work as well as attend workshops on bid-writing and social media - and much more.

Following similar successful events in Manchester, Bristol and Cardiff, we know just how valuable past attendees have found them. Find out more and book your ticket today.

The Good Things Foundation Learning Team has been working hard to develop Video calling, a new course that focuses on programs and apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype and Messenger.

This brand-new course will demonstrate how to download, register and use the video calling programs, and is now live on Learn My Way and ready for you to use. We hope you all like it and we welcome any feedback you may have - get in touch at hello@goodthingsfoundation.org.

Future Digital Inclusion beyond 2020

You may have heard that the Department for Education is re-tendering the Future Digital Inclusion programme, which Good Things Foundation and the Online Centres Network is delivering until March 2020.

We are currently working on our tender, which will be submitted in December. The Online Centres Network will form a key part of our bid.

We will let you know as soon as we’re able about whether we have been successful.

Training needs survey

Last week we launched our Online Centres Training Needs Survey. The survey is a great opportunity for you to help us decide what training support we can provide our network during the upcoming year.

As a big part of our Network Offer, our training is always free for Online Centres so it’s a great chance to inform the kind of support we provide for you!

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US JOIN FORCES

A big thank you from everyone in the Network Team to those of you who came along to our Joining Forces event at the Trinity Community Centre in Bristol last week. We were delighted to have so many fantastic partner organisations on board and to see some Bristol-based Online Centres come along to have a chat and find out more about services in their area.

We thought it was a really good day and we will be planning more Joining Forces events in 2020, so watch this space! If you came to the event and would like to send us your feedback,
please complete the short survey.

Financial help for Welsh families

If you’re an organisation working with parents or families in Wales you can access free financial capability training to help you better support the people you help.

Talk, Learn, Do (TLD) is an evidence-based intervention developed by the Money Advice Service to help parents of 3-11 year olds talk to their children about money. Practical sessions are taking place all over Wales between now and the end of January next year, and participants will also receive a free toolkit and resources for parents.
