News from Greece

Josh visited our Free Methodist work in Thessaloniki. Mike and Maria Long lead this work. Kali, pictured left and Fevronia, next to Josh are young leaders in the church. There was a good time of fellowship and planning for the coming year. They have been working fervently in the community. It's our hope to see young leaders like Kali and Fevronia take on leadership roles in the near future.
Our church in Thessaloniki has a diverse group on nationalities. I (Josh) was pleased to see an active membership. Many have come to Greece looking for a new life. Greece is on the frontline and dealing with crises on different levels. The refugee crisis is taking a toll on the country. Thankfully, churches and NGOs are responding. On Sunday, the church prayed for a refugee family leaving to be reunited with family in Germany. It's great to witness how lives are being impacted!

 News from Portugal.

Susy and I had the opportunity to visit our churches and leaders in Portugal. I (Josh) taught a Sunday school and spoke in two churches services. Susy also shared at the Corroios church during Sunday school. The first evening Cindi prepared a delicious dinner for the church leaders as we gathered and talked about future ministry plans.  Pastors Eduardo and Cindi Angelo recently celebrated sixteen years of ministry in the country. We are thankful for their faithfulness!

News from Spain

Study Abroad students

Our three students, Gianna, Ryan and Beth completed their semester abroad.  Beth shares of her experience "3 months. 3 people. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Already missing Spain like crazy, but I know I'm supposed to be home for now and that someday, I'll be back"  They are students attending Greenville College learning Spanish in the best place to learn, Spain! While in Spain they participated in local church activities and missions program. We pray their immersion in Spain was an enriching time academically, as well as spiritually.
They made new friends, visited interesting new places and neighboring countries. Are you a Spanish major/minor student thinking about studying abroad? Join us in September 2017. Contact Greenville College for more information.
10th Anniversary in Spain
This past October the church in Spain celebrated 10 years of church planting and ministry. The first church was established in Rivas (Madrid), by Susy and myself. It's been an interesting learning experience and journey. We now have a total of seven churches in the country. Five established and two house churches. Four in the Canary Islands and three on the main land. With plans for new church plants next year. We are thankful for the Lord's leading and faithfulness!
Local leaders and members from our churches gathered for a time of teaching and celebration. The theme for the weekend  was "Walking together, Serving without Barriers" Several members made commitments to serve in their local church and one person felt the call to pastoral ministry. This is exciting to see God call men and women to share the good news in the important days!.
Missionary completes service
Visa Missionary, Anna Henry has completed her missionary service in Spain. Anna arrived in March, 2014 and was instrumental in the launching of the Logos Learning Center in Rivas Vaciamadrid (Madrid). She served as administrator for the Center. She also led worship and youth at the Light and Life Free Methodist church, also located in Rivas. Anna served in various ministries locally and nationally over last two and a half years. We wish her well in her next chapter of life and ministry. A special thanks to Sage Hills FMC in Wenatchee, WA for their investment in Anna and Spain!

Join us for the adventure and experience of a lifetime!

Announcing: Registration for the Celtic Camino 2017 cycling tour in Ireland and France from June 5-17, 2017 is now open.
VisionQuest is a Spanish nonprofit organization affiliated with the Free Methodist Church of Spain.  We are dedicated to creating and managing events - including cycling tours, benefits, prayer walks, and pilgrimages that educate, motivate, mobilize, and inspire you to understand, serve and appreciate the world we live in.

Praise reports:

  • Ten years of church planting and ministry in Spain. We are thankful for the Lord's leading and faithfulness!
  • Sixteen years of ministry for Eduardo and Cindi Angelo in Portugal.
  • New church plant in Lanzarote, Oasis de Amor is growing and planning to start new cell groups next year.
  • The John Wesley Bible institute will transition to a Seminary early next year. Registration is in the process. Also, a new semester cycle will start in February with new students. Online classes will also be offered.

Prayer requests:

  • Pray for Anna Henry's transition as she returns to the US in December.
  • A van is needed for the local church in Rivas and the Logos Learning Center. 2/3 of the people in the church use public transportation. The ministry is very limited and would like to expand community services. $10,000 would purchase a used nine passenger van. If you would like to make a donation, Please use this link.
