Dear <<First Name>>

This is such a special year as the focus on women’s empowerment at a global level has never received more attention. Women are speaking out and showing up. And men are speaking out for women too. It is fabulous.

Freedom for all is not an easy pursuit. I believe that this is a critical year to come together, women and men to intensify our support for each other as we accelerate not only our transformation but our impact in the world.

I recently spoke to a Japanese team member, Emi, who said, ‘Kristin, do you know what? Everyone who has been to WIN has had so much luck in their lives’. It is as if they have been touched by a magic wand. She mentioned everyone from the new Mayor of Tokyo, the Mayor of Yokohama, the CEO of Calbee and included herself. It may not be all because of WIN, I answered with a smile, feeling even a bit embarrassed.

What I realise from Emi’s comment is that when we gather in a supportive context,
share our individual and collective dreams with others, we are able to accelerate the realization of those dreams.

Could that be what it means to be touched by a magic wand?

The transformation requested in the world cannot be accomplished in a day. It asks for your deep commitment and open heart. We are today’s leaders who embody the spirit of the pioneer in our personal lives, companies, communities and the world. Whether you take the lead on behalf of many or simply your own life, you are going to be the first. Sometimes you even might be the first to support another woman as she moves forward in the world.

And when we doubt ourselves  we stand for and with each other to lift each other up.

So today, hug a sister, express how you appreciate her, how amazing she is and stand with her as she takes small and big steps towards her dream for the world, work and life. Here’s to using your real or imaginary magic wands to create your luck today. This is certainly not the time to give up or give in.

Happy International Woman’s Day.

With love and courage,

Kristin Engvig

ABOUT WIN

We work to get a critical mass of women into decision making roles, to progress careers, to create companies with the highest values, encourage and support more women in politics and in business, as well as giving space for artists and activists. We also know it is not only about women. We therefore work to develop ourselves on the inside, contributing with our authenticity, with our hearts and integrating feminine values, supporting each other in making dreams come true. We work globally and we work with men. That is what creates a win-win situation moving forward that benefits everyone. Solving the many challenges of our time requests your compassionate leadership and your vital passion to sustain it.
WIN runs women’s preferred leadership forum, the WINConference. It also holds a WINCorporate networking and learning group, runs the WINCommunity and the WINdevelopment fund. For more information on WIN please visit our website
