The world's biggest online SharePoint conference - SP24 - concluded last week. It consisted of 98 SharePoint/Office 365 sessions presented over a 24 hour period. There were over 7,500 attendees at the event and some famous SharePoint experts presented including Bill Baer, Dux Raymond, Joel Oleson, Sam Marshall, Sonja Madsen and Mirjam van Olst.
I was lucky enough to also be one of the speakers and presented on the topic of how to use SharePoint to build a Wikipedia for your organisation. In the session I talk about how to increase the adoption of SharePoint by providing clear guidelines around exactly what type of content you want people to contribute.
The session consists of three parts: 1) The latest intranet research from the Worldwide Intranet Challenge including the biggest problem facing intranets 2) A proposed approach for dealing with this problem 3) An example using SharePoint 2013.
I have uploaded the session to Youtube. It's a little hard to see some of the slides so I'd recommend you view the video in fullscreen. I've also added a detailed index in the 'About' section so you can skip straight to the part of the video in which you are interested.
If you would like to implement a similar 'Wikipedia' like approach in your organisation and need some help, please contact me using the details below - I am more than happy to assist.
