Health registration fees waived for all new businesses
All new business applications received by City of Maribyrnong are being waived until 30th June 2021 to help support our new business community during this time.
Existing businesses will be offered a 50% discount on their renewal fees for 2021 with more information to be communicated shortly.

National Manufacturing Policy released
Australian Government has announced a $1.3 billion Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI) and the National Manufacturing Priorities Strategy. The MMI will drive lasting change for Australian manufacturers and will help businesses scale up, collaborate and commercialise their products, whilst the National Manufacturing Priorities Strategy will help turbo charge manufacturing with focus on food and beverage, recycling, medical products and resources technology.
There will also be a stream of funding which allow businesses to turn good ideas into commercial outcomes. Commonwealth funding will be provided on a co-investment of up to 50% of the eligible project costs.
Outdoor eating and entertainment package- $5k government grants
The state government has announced grants to support businesses adapt to outdoor dining and entertainment. Grants of up to $5000 will be available for eligible hospitality businesses with an annual payroll of less than $3 million. Businesses can apply for a grant to pay for practical things like umbrellas, outdoor furniture, screens and equipment.
City West Water will waive the fixed trade waste agreement fee for the June-September billing quarter for food businesses that have ceased trading due to COVID-19. Customers pay this quarterly fee to discharge their trade waste to the City West Water sewer network.
