To our Maribyrnong Business Community,

Welcome to 2021.  While COVID-19 is still a strong presence, it's pleasing to see the continued relaxing of restrictions and reopening of our economy.  For the latest updates on the easing of restrictions visit the DHHS Website.

Council's Economic Development & Smart Cities team is here to assist and support your business so please get in touch on business@maribyrnong.vic.gov.au if there's anything we can do to help.

Love Your Local Campaign - Celebrating Local Businesses

The Love Your Local campaign was established to help promote public facing businesses that were significantly impacted during the COVID-19 restrictions.  The campaign is getting good reach with over 3,200 site views since the launch in late November.

If you live or work locally, it's a great tool to help you find new local businesses that you can support.

Simply visit the page and the website and interactive map will help you find the best places to shop, socialise, eat, drink and enjoy yourself.

If you are a public facing business and aren't listed on the directory yet, simply Visit the site and click the link if you'd like your business to be included in this directory.

Responsible Cafes - Sustainability Initiative for Cafes

Maribyrnong City Council are proud to be a member of Responsible Cafes, a program designed to help local cafes reduce waste, save money, and promote your positive actions to the community!

There are 5 steps for cafes to reap the benefits:

Step one: Register your cafe for free to access your cafe dashboard.

Step two: Tick off all the positive actions that you are taking to reduce your waste, carbon emissions and impact on the community.

Step three: Download posters and guides to help you on your waste saving mission and promote your mission with your community.

Step four: Your cafe will be given a ‘Responsible Bean Rating’ and shown on our digital map ready for customers to search.

Step Five: Share your rating and post a photo to your social media  (with a poster and/or reusable cup in action – or something more creative!) with the hashtag #ResponsibleCafes to be included on the social stream of our website.

Find out more and register at the Responsible Cafes Website
