Supporting Strong Wool In Design Industries

Strong wool is a major feature of the New Zealand wool industry and Primary Wool Co-operative Ltd is working to unite with other industry members to raise awareness and use of the versatile fibre.

“We have a commitment to our growers to actively work together to strengthen and unite the New Zealand wool industry through strategic collaboration,” says Bay de Lautour, Chairman of Primary Wool Co-operative.

One example of this collaboration will take place this weekend at “Weekend in a Woolshed” where Campaign for Wool NZ, supported by Primary Wool Cooperative, is about to immerse nine of New Zealand’s up-and-coming architecture, interior, spatial, product and industrial designers into life on one of the North Island’s largest high country sheep stations...

An Industry Reminder

The current industry weight limit is 220 kg per bale. This limit will change to 200 kg commencing 1st of July 2016.

Please speak to your contractors and work with them to assist in this industry regulation. This is because over half of our clip is destined for China and much of that wool is being sent off shore unscoured. The machinery used to compress 3 bales into one high density bale is unable to handle the current limit. CP Wool is then required to reduce offending bales back to the required limit in stores which is a very time consuming and labour intensive process.

Thank you for your support with this.
