News from the Principal
Mrs Mary Anne Evans

The conclusion of Term 1 2017 holds the promise of a well deserved break for NEGS’ students, staff and families. Collectively, we have worked together providing the best educational outcome for our students. I specifically refer to our students’ wellbeing: being healthy - inside-to-out; working academically to the best of their ability; involving themselves in extra-curricular activities whole-heartedly; whilst underpinning all of this achievement through caring for others.

Health Centre News

The School is offering Seasonal Influenza vaccinations (FLUARIX Tetra - Quadrivalent) to all senior school students. The vaccinations will be given at the NEGS Health Centre. The cost is $20 and will be charged to your school account. If you would like your daughter vaccinated, please complete the consent form attached and return it to the NEGS Health Centre as soon as possible as we have access to a limited number of vaccines.

Seeking Holiday Hosts

Every year we have girls come from Kichijo, Japan who enrol at NEGS for one year to experience life in Australia.  This year, we welcome the lovely Emi Hasegawa who has joined the Year 10 girls. As it is hard for Emi to travel back to Japan for the school breaks, we would love it if families would consider taking Emi for some of the holidays so she can experience our different lifestyles here in Australia, as well as learn about the Japanese culture from Emi.  If you are interested in having Emi stay with your family please contact Selina Croft in Enrolments on 6774 8700.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Naplan for Year 9 and the HSC Minimum Standard

Dear Years 7, 8 and 9 Families,
The following changes have been made to the achievement of the HSC from 2020.
Our students will continue to be supported in their class lessons to ensure they achieve their best and are fully prepared for these tests. If you have any concerns, please contact your daughter’s class teacher directly. Although this information is focused on Year 9 students, this information is also relevant to years 7 & 8 for when they complete the NAPLAN tests.

Please note - the minimum standard is NOT a Band 8, you will find that the content of the questions is not the same difficulty as Band 8 expectations. Read More
