QLD Premier presented with RDAIWM Roadmap

Whilst attending a forum in Ipswich, RDAIWM Chair Kathy Bensted presented the 2016-2020 RDA Ipswich & West Moreton Regional Roadmap to Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk MP and Assistant Minster for Local Government Jennifer Howard MP.

This was a great opportunity for Ms Bensted to report to the Premier the opportunities and infrastructure needs of the region. The Ipswich and West Moreton region contributes almost $12 billion GRP to the national economy.

To continue this growth further investment is needed for the Bromelton SDA, Cunningham Highway Amberley Intersection, the Kilcoy Bypass and GWIZ Industrial Estate.

IWMJobs Launch

RDAIWM Chair Kathy Bensted, Ipswich City Council Mayor Paul Pisasale and Lockyer Valley Deputy Mayor Jason Cook launched the joint initiative of the IWMJobs website.

IWMJobs is a new website with a single point of access to all jobs advertised in the area. This Talent Community platform enables creating and matching local jobs for local people. There are over 500 local jobs in the Ipswich and Lockyer Valley Region being advertised on this jobs portal. This is a free service to both local employer and job-seekers.

RDAIWM Chair Ms Kathy Bensted said ‘IWMJobs  would encourage additional employment and educational development through attracting and matching job seekers with local jobs’. To sign up for this free website go to iwmjobs.com.au

Withcott Queensland's Friendliest Town

The town of Withcott in the Lockyer Valley has been awarded the title of Queensland’s Friendliest Town for 2016 by environmental movement Keep Queensland Beautiful. The tireless work of local Councillor Janice Holstein, the Lockyer Valley Regional Council and wider community has paid off for Withcott; being awarded a 4 star rating in the Queensland Tidy Towns program in 2015.

Having been involved with the Tidy Towns program for some 16 years, I’m so proud of the Withcott community for such an outstanding achievement, well done Withcott! said local Councillor Janice Holstein, Lockyer Valley Regional Council and RDA Ipswich & West Moreton Committee member.
