I feel sorry but I have to admit that today was one of the rare instances where I could not believe my eyes reading a “study” published in the journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery). How e-cigarettes could ‘health wash’ the tobacco industry

The evidence that e-cigarettes help people quit smoking was described in the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) recent report as “scant and of low certainty”. Predictably, this triggered the latest round of claims and counterclaims in an ongoing, and often acrimonious, dispute about the potential of e-cigarettes.


Australia urged to consider permitting nicotine e-liquids

Next year could mark a breakthrough for the Australian e-cigarette market, with the regulator due to review a proposal that e-cigarettes could be allowed subject to a maximum nicotine concentration. The sexy new face of cigarette packaging

From May next year onwards all cigarettes must be in plain packaging, with nothing to distinguish each packet from the next except the name of the brand at the bottom. Which frankly is a bit of a giveaway, if you ask me. It just means it takes slightly longer for the lass behind the counter to locate the brand I want, which is annoying for her.

Asthma Made Me Smoke

Despite widespread anti-smoking campaigns, many teens still pick up smoking. Some risk factors for starting smoking are obvious, such as living in a household of smokers. However, research suggests that an unlikely group of teens is especially likely to start smoking: asthmatics. According to a press release [...] a new study found that adolescents with asthma are twice as likely to smoke as adolescents without asthma. [...]
