Young adults believe hookah, e-cigs are safer than cigarettes, study shows

A new study finds that young adults under 25, including high school grads and college students, are more likely to rate hookah and e-cigarettes as safer than cigarettes, when compared to 25 to 34-year-olds. According to Michael Felberbaum, press officer for the FDA, the administration is researching all aspects of e-cigarettes and is pushing new rules that would extend the agency’s authority to regulate “additional products that meet the legal definition of a tobacco product.” [...] FDA can deem additional tobacco products to be subject to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act,” Felberbaum said.
